Browser GUI

The homeowner can monitor and control his connected home through an interface that uses graphics to present the information in pictures.

Please, first,:check the PC System Requirements.

Then, launch Find My Destiny. It will do the following:

Floor Plan View

The “Floor Plan” view is a graphical view of you home that provides status of the activities in the rooms and an intuitive interface for controlling all of the devices in your home.

The rooms in a house are grouped into "floor areas". A floor area is a logical grouping of rooms that are connected together into an area of the house. Many homes can show all rooms with just one floor area. In this case, the one floor area will take up all of the Browser GUI as shown below. Alternatively, a home can have multiple floor areas. The rooms in these floor areas are often grouped by the floor they are on (e.g., basement, 1st floor, 2nd floor, etc.), but can also be grouped by wing or building. A house with multiple floor areas shows all of the floor ares at the bottom of the window with the selected floor area highlighted in yellow and displayed in the upper part of the window. Clicking on one of the floor areas on the display will make that floor area the active floor area in the upper part of the display.

Clicking one of the rooms will bring up the room-specific Room Menu for that room – allowing you to change Room Scenes and monitor and control all the devices and components in that room (such as lights, curtains, fireplaces, HVAC, and entertainment). Clicking in the white area outside of the rooms will bring up the House Menu – allowing you to access features of the system that affect more than one room.

In addition, the rooms change color based on the type of automation you have in your home.

Traditional Automation Only

If your home only uses traditional automation (i.e., not handsfree automation), then all rooms that have their lights turned on will show up in white and all rooms with their lights off will be blue.

Handsfree Automation

If your home uses traditional automation and handsfree automation, then

The rooms that are occupied are white.

The rooms that are unoccupied are green.

In addition, some rooms may be in a light green color. These rooms are in a state called “Maybe Occupied” – at this point in time, the Home Positioning System does not know whether or not there is someone in those rooms. This is only a temporary state as the room will quickly turn either white or green.

How it Works

The Domain Controller runs the software to monitor and control devices and components in you home. In addition, it is a web server - sending out web pages to the browser running on your PC. When you ran Find My Destiny on your PC, it searched the network and found the Domain Controller. Then, Find My Destiny launched a web browser on your PC and pointed the browser at the Domain Controller - getting the floor plan view from the Domain controller. Although not necessary because Find My Destiny takes care of it for you, you may want to know The URL of the Domain Controller.
