All Groups

With the "All Groups" button active, you can quickly and easily know where each Group of Actions is used. You can also create, edit and delete a Group of Actions from here.

First, Open the Events Menu then select the topic you would like to review:

View All Groups

After opening the Events menu, click on the "All Groups" button at the top right of the menu to make it active.

You will get something like the menu at the right.

The left hand column lists all of the Groups of Actions in the project. In the example, there are 3 groups of actions.

The right hand column list the Events that are using the Groups of Actions. The top Group of Actions is being used by another Group of Actions and not by anything else (below, we will expand this line and find out which Group of Actions is using it).

The 2nd Group of Actions, "Go to Bed" is not being used at present.

The 3rd Group of Actions, "Watch CNN in LR" is being used by one or more Timer Events, GUI Buttons and Keypad buttons.

In the example at the right, the "Used by" column on the right has been expanded so we can see exactly what is using the Groups of Actions.

The 1st Group of Actions, "All Lights Out", is being used by the 2nd Group of Actions, "Go to Bed".

The 2nd Group of Actions, "Go to Bed" is not being used at present.

The 3rd Group of Actions, "Watch CNN in LR" is being used by:

  • One Duration Timer Event from 7am to 7:30am Monday - Friday

  • One GUI Button of the same name (which is typical), and

  •  One Keypad button which is really the hand held remote control in the Living room (to Ubiquity a remote control is just a keypad).

In the example at the right, the 3rd Group of the "Groups" column on the left has been expanded so we can see the set of actions that make up the Groups of Actions.

Note, also, that with a group selected (and highlighted in blue), the "Edit" and "Test" buttons are now available.

Click "Edit" to edit the Actions of the Group of Actions.

Click "Test" to execute the Group of Actions. If any of the actions have a delay associated with them, then those actions will be delayed. If the delay is negative time, then they will be executed immediately. If they are not delayed, they are executed in the order in which they appear from top to bottom.
