Download Individual DDF's

Below are the steps for downloading an individual Device Description File from the Destiny Library to your user library on your PC. Note that it is a little easier to Download All DDF's and update your whole library than it is to get just one file.

Navigate to the AV component you want

You may want to read or print these directions firs (especially the part about right clicking on the file name and where to paste the file), then, click on  Browse for a Device Description File.

The screen at the right will pop up. Please enter the user name and password for our password-protected web site.

Click on the type of AV component.

Click on the manufacturer of the AV component.

Save the Target

This is the tricky part.

Right click on the file you want.

Select "Save Target As".

The "Save As" menu will pop up on your PC (as shown below).

Navigate to the Destiny Library on your PC

Navigate to the root of the User Library of Device Description Files:

C:\Program Files\Destiny Networks\Projects\UserDeviceFiles

Create a Device "Type" Folder

If a folder of the same "Type of Device" exists, then double click on the icon for the type of AV component.

Otherwise, you will have to create a folder using the same type as the folder it came from on the web site.

Note, you may have far fewer folders in this directory than shown at the right.

Create a Device "Manufacturer" Folder

If a folder of the same "manufacturer" exists, then double click on the icon for the manufacturer of the AV component.

Otherwise, you will have to create a folder using the same manufacturer's name as the folder it came from on the web site.

Note, you may have far fewer folders in this directory than shown at the right.

Save the Device Description File to the Destiny Library on your PC

When you get to this point, click "Save".

You are done.
