If the motor is rated at less than 1/3 horsepower and runs on 24V or less, then Run a Low Voltage Power Wire to the motor of the fountain (if the fountain is not attached to the house, you will want to use outdoor wire and, preferably, bury it in conduit). Connect the power supply (represented by the battery in the picture below) in series with the relay.

If the motor is rated at more than 1/3 horsepower or uses 110V power, then Run a Relay Control Wire to a power relay such as one of the Omron Mini Power Relay.
