In the Debug Sensors layer you can test to see if the Entry/Exit and Area sensors are working. You can either have someone walk around the house while you watch the layout to see which sensors activate or if you have a wireless connection to the D5K, you can walk around with a laptop, watching the Design Module/Debug Sensor layer, and observe the sensors activate. This is a very useful tool for tuning the sensitivity and aim of the sensor into the area it is covering.
In the inactive state, all sensors appear as black squares or dots on the layout. As the sensor is activated by a movement in it's view area, it will turn red, indicating a single hit. If it receives several hits in rapid succession, it will turn green.
